Project Summary

Zero Expansion Joints. Zero Compromise. Built to Last.

On The Ottawa Hospital project, PS=Ø enabled the team to eliminate traditional expansion joints—managing thermal movement without the added cost, complexity, and long-term maintenance associated with conventional methods. By creating a self-supporting joint, PS=Ø also removed the need for double columns typically required with expansion joints—unlocking a more efficient structural design and greater architectural flexibility.

Traditional expansion joints are known failure points—prone to leaks, deterioration, and costly repairs over time. PS=Ø eliminates those risks entirely, delivering a cleaner design, simplified detailing, and a more durable final structure.

The Ottawa Hospital stands as a clear example of how PS=Ø removes long-standing design constraints—allowing teams to build smarter, more efficient, and without compromise.
