MMJV also utilized a mechanical reinforced splice system called PS=Ø that eliminated pour strips on hotel Floors 2-7... After a shrinkage period of 17 weeks for these six floors, crews grouted the couplers. By eliminating the pour strip, trades could easily traverse each of these floors and perform overhead work without waiting for delay strip placement. The system provided schedule savings with minimal upfront costs.
