5 Months
Over $2.5M Dollars
Time Saved. Costs Cut. Pour Strips Elminated.
At the IU Health Downtown Hospital, the structural engineers from MKA made the strategic decision to specify PS=Ø from the start—eliminating all traditional pour strips across this massive, high-profile hospital project (at the time, the largest active healthcare construction project in the country).
The result? A staggering 5 months of schedule acceleration and $2.5 million in cost savings.
By removing pour strips entirely, the team avoided time-consuming backshoring, pour backs, and rework—unlocking cleaner sequencing, faster trade access, and major efficiency gains across the structure. From early design through final pour, PS=Ø helped streamline coordination and deliver results at scale.
The IU Health project proves the value of early adoption: when PS=Ø is engineered in from the beginning, the impact is transformational—on time, cost, safety, and quality.
