Red Hawk Casino Hotel is a six-story, 120,000 square-foot hotel with 150 guest rooms and 25 suites located in Placerville, CA. The Engineer of Record designed 90-day PS=Ø® Relief Joints to replace traditional 90-day pour strip leave-outs in the two-way post-tensioned concrete slab system. Small relief joints, compared to large leave-outs, allowed for construction sequencing to seamlessly flow across each level and floor to floor without having to wait to pour back traditional pour strips. By specifying the PS=Ø® system, the engineer was able to increase overall construction productivity without sacrificing the quality of the slab.
