I was the project superintendent for the AdventHealth Hospital project in Overland Park, KS.
The AdventHealth project is a new 190,000 square-foot hospital located in Overland Park, KS that was completed in 2020. Due to having to provide backshoring, and some other unforeseen circumstances the project fell two months behind schedule. We were searching for a solution that would allow us to get back on schedule. We selected the PS=Ø® Mechanical Reinforcement Splice System which allowed us to pick up two months on the construction schedule, saving time and money for the project.
I would recommend this system for anyone who would like to reduce the amount of time spent waiting to begin wood framing on the podium level and increase safety by not having a leave-out in the slab.

I am a Senior Project Superintendent for Weis Builders, Inc. Our concrete subcontractor, Gresser Companies proposed using PS=Ø couplers on the Eleven 02 Hotel project in Rochester, MN in order to reduce the size of the pour stirps and the amount of formwork and shoring.
By using PS=Ø couplers on our project we were able to save time by starting our wood framing 45 days earlier over the pour stirp. Safety was another benefit because we only had a small joint with less formwork and reshoring compared to a 4-foot wide strip.
I would recommend this system for anyone who would like to reduce the amount of time spent waiting to begin wood framing on the podium level and increase safety by not having a leave-out in the slab.
Anthony Rand Senior Project Superintendent
We were very pleased with our experience using PS=0. We will be recommending future projects use their system whenever a pour strip is in the plans.
