University of Utah Health Sciences Garage is an eight-level, 1,000-car parking garage located in Salt Lake City, UT. The one-way post-tensioned beam and slab system designed with traditional pour strip required backshoring with a 90-day leave-out. During construction it was realized, with a 90-day pour back, the garage would never be finished on time for the opening of the adjacent cancer center. The PS=Ø® system was utilized on the last five levels and eliminated the pour strips and backshoring, which saved one and a half months and allowed the garage to open on time.
